SHORT HISTORY OF ORACABESSA
Oracabessa, a charming coastal town on Jamaica's north coast, boasts a rich history, vibrant culture, and natural beauty. Named after the Spanish "oracabeza" meaning "golden head," it features stunning golden beaches and headlands.
Historically, Oracabessa thrived as a bustling banana port. Over time, it evolved into a notable tourism and cultural heritage spot. Key to this transformation is Chris Blackwell, founder of Island Records, who purchased GoldenEye, the former home of James Bond creator Ian Fleming. Fleming wrote all 14 Bond novels at GoldenEye, now a luxurious resort drawing visitors worldwide.
